TCAT is testing
a new way of training!

As travel budgets get tighter and the state's method of handling instructional materials gets more complex, it will be crucial for TCAT to find new ways to get the word out.
TCAT is working with Austin Community College to develop on-line, broadcast-television-quality training. For an initial test, we need 200 volunteers to log in at 11 a.m. Wednesday May 25. Here's the link for 11am WEDNESDAY.
We'll have a brief discussion of HB6, pending legislation that will overhaul the way you order instructional materials, plus other textbook coordinator training that you may find useful.
After the event, we ask that you e-mail John Breed of ACC and provide information about the quality of the program.

TCAT's mission is to train and assist textbook professionals so they can help the students of Texas.
TCAT offers the only regular training for textbook coordinators in public school districts or open enrollment charter schools.
Throughout the year, TCAT acts as a clearing house for coordinators who have questions or problems with their ordering, warehousing, delivery or inventory. Veteran coordinators offer their expertise and knowledge to help fellow TCAT members work smoothly with one goal in mind - getting the materials to the kids.
At TCAT's Annual Conference each December, new coordinators get hands-on computer training in the complex state ordering system known as EMAT. |
